You can teach a child a lesson for a day;
but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity,
he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.

This touching story sparked a global cardboard challenge to build something amazing with cardboard, recycled material, and a child’s imagination.  This STEM challenge could be done at school or at home (and then shared at school).  This is a must see uplifting video about a 9-year-old boy who spent the summer building an amazing cardboard arcade at his Dad’s auto parts store in East Los Angeles. A filmmaker stopped by one day for an auto part, and became Caine’s first customer. What happens next is amazing!

    Instilling the love of learning in students is what I enjoy!  I am a primary teacher. My passion is creating engaging materials to use in my classroom.  It is fun to share ideas and materials, as well as find out what other great teachers are doing in their classrooms.

    It is important to me to keep kids actively involved with a combination of rich materials, music, movement, technology, independent practice, brain activities, hands-on learning, and all of those strategies we use to keep kids engaged.

    My education includes a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Masters in Education.  I am a wife, mother, Christian, and coffee addict.  Spending time with my family is what I love.  I’m involved in community service and giving back to the community.  Sports, cooking, reading, writing and travel are some of the other activities that I enjoy.
